Over recent years it has become apparent that the standard rubber bushes fitted at the rear of the front control arms on Mk5 & Mk6 VAG models start to deteriorate. This problem can be directly linked to the vertical mounting of the bush. Any movement in the car’s suspension is achieved through the rubber distorting, which in time will result in the rubber starting to tear, allowing forward, backward and sideways movement of the control arm. This results in vague handling, steering-pull and uneven tyre-wear. The fitting of SuperPro bushes not only eradicates these issues, but can also fix alignment problems that are caused by worn original components settling in an incorrect position.

SuperPro’s upgrade replacement polyurethane bush allows the control arm to move up and down freely, whilst eliminating the forwards, backwards and side-to-side travel. Consequently, the car has a more precise feel and steering response is improved, whilst ensuring the suspension maintains its alignment.

The polyurethane construction of SuperPro’s bushes also enables the use of an offset or eccentric centre so the the pivot-point of the bush to be re-positioned and allows the caster angle to be adjusted.

By using an offset bush on one side of the car and a standard SuperPro bush on the other, caster can be altered to accurately correct steering pull. And, by using an offset bush on both sides of the car, this will see improvements in straight-line stability and or reduced ‘lift’ under acceleration.

Part numbers:

  • Upgrade = SPF3271K (Kit of two replacement bushes)
  • Correct steering pull = SPF3272K (Kit of one offset and one replacement bush)
  • Correct and Anti-Lift = SPF3273K (Kit of two offset bushes)
